Learn on the Farm!
Have you always wanted to learn how to can, prepare your own sausage, take care of chickens, or tend to bees? We're here to help! Beginning this fall we will be offering regular culinary and homesteading classes on the farm.
On Thursdays Project Victory Gardens will offer culinary, food preservation, and homesteading classes in the evenings. Popular topics include sausage-making, charcuterie, and jam production.
One Friday per month Project Victory Gardens offers Dinner on the Farm. A true farm to table experience, diners will take a farm tour where they can see the farm fresh ingredients that will make up their dinner. Then, join in the Farm Kitchen where they will participate in making a meal of gourmet proportion.
Saturdays are normally open for farm tours from 1000-1400. Families, school and youth groups, and individuals are welcome to tour the farm activities and aquaponics learning center for a small fee. Veterans, military servicemembers, and military dependents may tour for free.
On the second Saturday of the month, Brunch on the Farm will be offered, following the format of Dinner on the Farm. Participants will gather freshly laid eggs, cut honey comb still warm from the hive, and visit the aquaponics center for the freshest herbs. They will participate in preparing their feast and then enjoy the fruits of their labors.
The fourth Saturday of the month will feature a Yoga and Resiliency Retreat. Participants will engage in guided meditation, yoga classes, and free time to wander the zen trail. A delicious farm to table lunch will be served next to the pond.
Stay tuned for updates!
